The Concert – A concerted effort
16 November 2012
Congratulations to the Volunteer Army Foundation, and their sponsors, supporters, musicians and friends who supported 'The Concert.'
The Concert, a concerted effort, was a revolutionary concept in New Zealand that saw 8,000 people join the Volunteer Army and help create 50,000 hours of volunteer service.
The Volunteer Army Foundation is the parent body of the Student Volunteer Army, and is focused on embedding a culture of service in New Zealand. They produced an 8 hour music event, with 24 leading Kiwi artists and an interactive village.
Tickets for 'The Concert' were granted by registering 4+ hours of your time volunteering. Young people together completed over 1000 projects in and around Christchurch helping, fixing, mending and creating whatever we could to make our city a better place!
The Ministry of Youth Development and four Aotearoa Youth Voices members attended The Concert and signed up more than 250 young people to the Aotearoa Youth Voices network.
