Michael's Day in Wellington

Andrew Little invited his Youth MP, Michael McLeod, down to Wellington on the 15 June 2016 because the politician is away during the Youth Parliament sitting days.
They spent a wonderful day together and “formed a great friendship that will go beyond Youth Parliament.” Michael came down to Wellington in the morning, where he met Andrew for a quick catch up over coffee. Before heading to Parliament and attending the Labour caucus meeting, they were discussing who would be speaking and what tactics they would pursue.
Throughout the day, Michael met with various MP’s, Press Gallery reporters, and the Labour Media and Research Team. He also attended the Amnesty International rally outside Parliament with the Labour MP’s and rehearsed and attended Question Time with Andrew.
Michael was soon on his flight home after some more meetings and a Matariki ceremony at Te Papa. “Overall it was a great experience…I saw in detail his part of the political process as Labour Leader, and the effort he puts into his job.”
