The Guide for Local Government: An Introduction to Youth Participation builds on youth participation good practice being undertaken by councils and young people. It offers simple advice, tips and examples on why youth participation is important, how to do it and what works.
This guide also complements Local Government New Zealand’s cross agency and local government initiative called Growing Active Citizens. This initiative is about increasing active youth participation in decision-making, locally, regionally and nationally.
