Have your say on the MMP review!

17 April 2012

This year we all get the chance to have a say on changes we'd like to see to the way our MMP voting system works. It’s an important opportunity – it’s not often we get to have a say on something that is going to affect the whole country for years to come.

It’s easy to get more information and have your say. You don’t need to be an expert, just to have a view on how MMP could be improved. There’s even an easy submission guide to help.

Not old enough to vote? It doesn’t matter – one day you will be! The review team wants to hear from anyone with suggestions on how to make MMP better, regardless of their age or voting experience.

Over 2000 people have already made a submission, and you can see what they’re suggesting, and decide whether you agree or disagree with them, on the MMP Review website www.mmpreview.org.nz.

You’ve got until the end of May to make your submission, and they can be made online, by email, or by using the easy submission guide.

You can get all the information you need either from www.mmpreview.org.nz, or by calling freephone 0800 36 76 56.

Information is available in English, Maori, Tongan, Samoan, traditional Chinese, simplified Chinese, and Korean.
