Mauri Ora: Realising Maori Potential. Seminar with Professor Sir Mason Durie

This seminar will focus on attitudinal shifts by the incorporation of Maori values and Maori world views into education, health, and social services. It will help professionals understand more fully the issues that need to be addressed and what is actually happening in this area. Participants will develop a deeper understanding of Maori values and how these can be incorporated into professional practices in order to develop the potential of Maori.

Mason Durie is from the Rangitane and Ngati Kauwhata iwi and is an Emeritus Professor at Massey University. He has a background in medicine and psychiatry. He is author of numerous books and articles including “Nga Matatini Maori Diverse Realities”, “Whaiora Maori Health Development”, contributions to “Social Dimensions of Health and Disease: a New Zealand Perspective”, and many other publications. Mason is a very special person and this seminar will enrich you, both as a professional and a New Zealander.
