Applications for Ship for World Youth are now closed.

The Ship for World Youth (SWY) is a unique international youth exchange programme run and sponsored by the Cabinet Office of the Government of Japan.

Young people between 18-30 years of age are invited to apply for one of nine places on the Ship for World Youth programme.  Applications are also invited from people who wish to apply to be the National Leader for the New Zealand delegation.

The programme's aim is to broaden the participants' international perspectives by involving them in various on board activities including seminars, sports and cultural activities and workshops.

There are 110 young people from Japan and approximately 100 young people from 10 other countries, working together for 30 days in Japan.  This includes 19 days aboard the ship which will visit three ports of call around Japan.

Participants need to be available to participate from 23 January – 22 February 2013.

This is a great opportunity for young people to meet like-minded individuals from Japan, Bahrain, Chile, Costa Rica, Fiji, Kenya, Mexico, Sri Lanka, Turkey, United Arab Emirates and of course New Zealand.

Any enquiries about the programme should be sent to info@myd.govt.nz
